HEOS, 타이달 커넥트 지원

데논과 마란츠가 공통적으로 사용하는 HEOS 스트리밍 플랫폼에서 중요한 업데이트가 대거 있었다. 펌웨어 업데이트가 몇 달에 한 번 있어왔는데 최근 7월 24일에 있었던 업데이트엔 여러 버그 수정에 더해 새로운 기능 업데이트도 포함하고 있었다. 가장 눈에 띠는 건 역시 타이달 커넥트 지원이다. HEOS가 불편했던 것 중 하나가 바로 타이달 커넥트 미지원으로서 국내 오디오파일들이 선호하는 타이달 서비스 중 핵심적인 것 중 하나였다.

이번 HEOS 업데이트는 마란츠와 데논 제품을 사용 중이던 사용자들에겐 희소식이 될 것이다. 필자 또한 마란츠 모델 40n을 사용 중이어서 이 업데이트가 언제 될지 기대하고 있었는데 결국 계속 40n을 사용해야겠다는 생각이 든다. 이 외에 최근 출시된 STEREO 70S는 물론이고 M1 같은 네트워크 플레이어 등 HEOS를 플랫폼으로 사용하는 거의 모든 기기들에 적용되는 것으로 보인다.

이제 남은 건 ROON 인증이다. 이는 원래 작년부터 기다려왔던 것인데 아직 소식 없다. 아무래도 ROON이 하만에 인수되면서 여러 비즈니스로 지연되는 게 아닐까 한다. 여타 브랜드도 출시 시점에 ROON이 인증되어 나오는 경우가 요즘 들어 거의 없을 정도로 인증 관련 일들이 밀려 있는 보인다. 아무튼 HEOS 업데이트로 일단 마른 목은 축였다.
